MED23 FESTIVAL - LOULE

MED is a World Music festival that has established itself as a European reference, with a differentiating concept and a strong identity that has allowed it to achieve high levels of international notoriety. Every year, at the end of June, the Loulé Historic Area is invaded by sounds from around the globe but also by colors, flavors and smells that reflect the cultural diversity that is the hallmark of the event.

Besides a musical line-up that brings to Portugal the best names in the so-called world music industry, this festival also includes a fusion of cultural events ranging from gastronomy to plastic arts, street animation, handicraft, dance, theater, cinema, poetry, workshops, and much more, with a clear objective of promoting interculturality and promoting the union of peoples and tolerance.

MEDIEVAL FAIR SILVES

After a two-year hiatus, the Medieval Fair returns to the city of Silves, from 10 to 20 August, with 11 days of historical recreation of the medieval period of the former capital of the Kingdom of the Algarve, in a journey through time that invites you to experience "A day in History".

The daily life of the Islamic Xilb on a Friday in the year 1147 gives motto to this edition of the event, which fills the madinat Xilb with moments and sounds already so known, such as the welcome given by the Vizier, the call to prayer by Al-Muezzin, the buzz of vendors and the sound of music and contagious joy of these days.

Two daily tournaments, a show in the Castle, a dozen fixed entertainment spots, itinerant entertainment, six medieval tavern squares, two roupeiros, an educational and recreational space aimed at the youngest (Xilb dos Pequenos), more than two dozen entertainment groups; a Berber camp with merchants selling exotic products, blacksmiths, carpenters and potters working on their trades, and the usual medieval experiences are just some of the attractions of Silves' Medieval Fair, where more than a hundred exhibitors will be present, including craftspeople, masters, confectioners, mystics, merchants, and the Moorish quarter.

There will be 11 days that you will not want to miss in a unique environment and setting, made up of the peculiar layout of the urban fabric of the historic center of the city and the magnificence of its monuments. The Municipality of Silves invites everyone to be part of this great summer festival in the Algarve and to live "a day in History"!
